Drafts and Little Leagues
Riley was chosen by the Atlanta Braves with the 41st overall pick in the Major League Baseball draft in 2015. Though he had earlier committed to the Mississippi State Bulldogs baseball team, he signed a $1.6 million contract with the Braves.
He started with the Gulf Coast Braves then was promoted to the Danville Braves. At 217 at-bats, he hit 12 home runs from a batting line of 304/.389/.544. He had sixteen defensive errors and a.908 fielding percentage across sixty games.
